Dominique Evans-Bye teaches biology, marine science research, and geographic information science courses at Clark Magnet High School in La Crescenta, California. She has a BS in Environmental Biology with Marine Emphasis and a MA in GIS. Dominique has been a volunteer public safety diver for the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department Search and Rescue Dive Team since 1992. As the team’s Research and Development Officer, she has the unique ability to share resources between the Sheriff’s Department and the school district. Dominique is a successful grant writer and has been recognized with a number of awards, such as the Society for Science and the Public Fellowship, Chevrolet Green Educator, Steve Allen “Excellence in Education” Award and the 2013 Presidential Innovation Award for Environmental Educators.
