Inside Sales Representative

VideoRay is looking for a motivated and reliable experienced Inside Sales Representative to join its team and make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and communities!

Position Description: The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for generating and qualifying leads, closing sales, and maintaining strong customer relationships. The qualified Inside Sales Representative is a member of a cross-functional team, capable of working across the business to complete the sales processes, and requires a deep understanding of marine technology, strong sales skills, and excellent communication abilities. The Inside Sales Representative reports to the VP of Sales and Business Development and receives tasking from the Sales Team. Prioritization and direction will also be received from Director of Business Development Operations in addition to VP, Sales & BD.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation and Qualification:
    • Identify and research potential customers through various channels (i.e., trade shows, HubSpot, email, social media).
    • Assist Account Executives in the qualification of leads based on customer needs, budget, and decision-making authority.
    • Maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads.
  • Product Knowledge and Sales Process:
    • Understand VideoRay’s products and services including their applications, technical specifications, and benefits.
    • Effectively communicate the value proposition of these solutions to potential customers.
    • Develop and deliver effective sales presentations and product demonstrations.
    • Attend Trade Shows and other business events with customers and dealers.
    • Address customer inquiries and objections promptly and professionally.
    • Assist the Sales Team in the negotiation of pricing and terms to close deals.
    • Track sales activities and metrics to measure performance.
  • Customer Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, including key decision-makers and technical personnel.
    • Provide exceptional customer service and support throughout the sales process and post-sale.
    • Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and repeat business.
  • Market Analysis and Competitive Intelligence:
    • Stay up to date with industry trends, technological advancements, and competitive landscape in the marine robotics market.
    • Conduct market research to identify potential opportunities and challenges.
  • Administrative Tasks:
    • Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions in the CRM system.
    • Assist Account Executives in the preparation of quotes, proposals, and capabilities presentations.
    • Prepare sales reports and forecasts.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:

  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Proven track record in inside sales or a related field.
  • Strong, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM (Salesforce) software and sales tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • A passion for sales and a drive to achieve targets.
  • Travel required (Domestic, International, 25-50%).
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

 

Desired Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, marine science, or a related field.
  • Experience with marine robotics or autonomous systems.
  • Knowledge of oceanographic data collection and analysis.
  • Prior experience or formal training in sales or other relevant technical fields.
  • Previous history or experience with VideoRay Sales and Orders processes.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (CostPoint)

 

Physical Demands:

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, or crouch. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The employee may occasionally need to lift product that can weight >50 lbs.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
