Bentley now Executive Chairman, Gibson CEO at VideoRay LLC

Move establishes continuity of management within succession plans

POTTSTOWN, Pa., December 6, 2022 – VideoRay today announced that owner and founder Scott Bentley has become executive chairman, with Chris Gibson, longtime executive and vice president of sales and marketing, stepping up to the chief executive officer role.

Bentley, the founder of VideoRay in 1999, has decided to retire at age 65 to a role with fewer day-to-day responsibilities. Gibson—who has been vice president of sales and marketing for 20 years—is uniquely qualified to take the reins of the company as CEO.

“It was a difficult decision to choose my successor, as there are multiple qualified candidates within our executive ranks,” said Bentley. “However, Chris has shown leadership, innovation and resilience through our successes and challenges over the years. I will be available to advise him and take on strategic projects in my new role. I will retain an office at our headquarters but not be involved in details as I have been.”

“Today is a very humbling day for me; it is an incredible honor to lead VideoRay. Scott has taken VideoRay from an idea at the North Pole to the company it is today. Over the last two years, we have experienced tremendous growth, largely because of our management team. I look forward to working closely with our team as we embark on VideoRay’s next chapter. While we have had great success, we are excited about doing more. As technology evolves, we will evolve ahead of it, working with our customers and partners to deliver industry-leading solutions,” said Gibson.

VideoRay Mission Specialist underwater robotic systems have redefined the “inspection class” category. Much more than underwater cameras, they are ready to perform critical jobs in the harshest environments.

VideoRay systems deliver industry-leading power and maneuverability, enabling operations in currents up to four knots. The durable modular platform is built to handle heavy payloads and a wide array of sensors and tooling. And they can operate at significant depths for hours, days or even months at a time.

Mission Specialist robots are rugged enough to work anywhere, handling tough jobs and applications. They are used around the world in demanding underwater missions to support national security, first responders, object search and recovery, infrastructure examination, and science and research.

Mission Specialist systems are designed to support the safety of divers and reduce or eliminate dive time in hazardous conditions. They pack the power and functionality you expect from larger, more expensive systems into a form factor that is sized just right. Portable and one-man deployable, they significantly reduce costs while streamlining logistics.
