VideoRay is looking for a motivated and reliable experienced Sr. Mechanical Engineer to join its team and make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and communities!
Position Description: The Senior Mechanical Engineer acts as the lead mechanical design engineer on multiple projects. He/She will improve standardized engineering practices and workflows. In addition, he/she will help mentor and supervise junior Mechanical Engineers, providing leadership and training. This position reports to the Director of Mechanical Engineering.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the design of underwater robotic systems and vehicles
- Develop and test prototypes of devices designed
- Perform and review FEA analysis on mechanical components
- Draft and check mechanical drawings
- Perform first article inspections
- Analyze test results and change design as needed
- Assure product quality by designing mechanical testing methods and providing Q/C acceptance criteria and procedures capabilities
- Draft work instructions and other technical documents.
- Work with operations staff to transition new products into production
- Participate in design reviews
- Participate in field trials
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:
- Minimum 8 years’ experience
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- Excellent mechanical and problem-solving skills
- Significant CAD experience with the ability to learn SolidWorks
- Good communication skills, including usage of Microsoft office applications
- Basic familiarity with robotics systems
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to meet deadlines
- Proficient at managing time and resources effectively
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong work ethics and integrity
- Must be authorized to work in the United Sates
- Ability for occasional travel (domestic/international) 0%-10%
Desired Requirements:
- Proficient in SolidWorks
- Proficient in PDM Pro
- Sub Sea engineering experience
- ROV experience
- Electro-Mechanical experience
Physical Demands:
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, or crouch. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
