VideoRay tether is mateable and compatible, which supports our modular approach to delivery. Systems come with multiple segments of tether, enabling you to reach your desired depth and providing redundancy for your operations. Limiting your ROV to one long continuous length of tether can put your mission in jeopardy; having multiple segments on hand ensures that your mission can continue even if part of your tether becomes damaged. As an additional layer of protection, the VideoRay Pro 4 Cockpit Software includes a turn counter widget to help you monitor your tether’s position and ensure that it does not tangle or knot itself.

Most VideoRay ROV Configurations are delivered with one of our Tether Deployment Systems (TDS) – tether management cases designed to store, manually payout, and retrieve your tether while keeping it protected and clean. Both our Standard and Extended TDS cases have a retractable handle and wheels for easy transportation and consist of rugged Pelican 1620 hard cases with custom slip rings, manual winch handles, and 4.5 m (15 ft) leads of tether to the Control Panel.

VideoRay uses the finest underwater mateable connectors available in our tethers. Along with these connections, steel strain relief cables, all copper conductors, and a Kevlar member built into the tether, are components that allow VideoRay tether to handle quite a bit of abuse.

VideoRay tether comes in a variety of standard pre-cut lengths. Custom tether lengths are also available.
